Winemaker Marco DiGiulio

One of the most respected winemakers in the business, Marco DiGiulio has been making wine for over 30 years. A graduate of the University of California, Davis with a degree in Fermentation Science, Marco began his career at Pine Ridge Winery with subsequent winemaking roles at Atlas Peak Vineyards, Pezzi King Vineyards and Pepi Winery. While making wines at Pepi, Marco took charge of the Lokoya brand and established his reputation for making world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. His 1997 Lokoya Cabernet Sauvignon received 98 points in the Wine Spectator. After a succession of 90 point-plus wines, Wine Spectator named Marco “one of Napa’s leading wine consultants”. Marco has guided winemaking at Napa Valley’s Girard Winery since 1999, and now leads all winemaking for Vintage Wine Estates which added Firesteed to its fine wine portfolio in 2017. A long-time fan of Oregon wines, Marco is excited to continue the Firesteed legacy of crafting the signature varietals of Oregon— Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Riesling—which express the unique terroir of the Willamette Valley.


Founder Howard Rossbach

Howard Rossbach is the founder of Firesteed Vineyards. Passionate about wine since he was in college, Howard mission was to create wines that possess the unique combination of quality, artistry and value. An early pioneer of Oregon winegrowing, he founded Firesteed in the heart of the Willamette Valley’s Eola Hills region in 1992. His legacy continues with a portfolio ideally suited to the growing region; excellent in terms of quality yet unpretentious and approachable.
