Debbie Chapman   Hospitality and Tasting Room Manager

If you’re lucky enough to pay a visit to our Oregon winery and vineyards, Debbie Chapman is the person who will be guiding you around and pouring wine for you in our beautiful tasting room. In addition to managing the day-to-day operation of the tasting room, she’s also responsible for hosting wine club events and organizing tours, private parties and other special events at the Firesteed Winery.

Debbie became interested in the wine business 30 years ago, when she and her husband began making regular visits to the wine regions of California and Oregon, tasting different varietals, talking to wine makers and learning about the cultivation and production of fine wine. Firesteed Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is currently her favorite varietal, which she enjoys paired with a perfectly cooked rib-eye steak or simply savored on its own.

When she’s not working at the winery, Debbie stays busy tending her vegetable garden, supervising her small herd of cats and chickens, and thinking about adding a couple of alpacas to the menagerie. She also enjoys hiking and bicycling and exploring this beautiful part of the world.

“My job is so much fun because I learn something new every day about wine-making and viticulture as I work in the tasting room and walk around in the vineyard. But what I like most about my job is talking to the winery visitors about where they are from, what they do and, of course, what wines they like. And even though I spend my days introducing people to our fabulous varietals and vintages, I never think of myself as a salesman because once people have tasted them, Firesteed wines just sell themselves.”
